This is the first in a series about the making of  Scotch whisky, its production, storage and distribution around the globe. We start from the raw materials, the cereals and water through to the soil and then onto the location to gain an insight  into this most mysterious of beverages that to the many is  both a myth and an enigma. For those who work in the industry in Britain and abroad, making, marketing and monitoring the sales of  ”aqua beatha”, Gaelic for the water of life,   is stimulating and challenging.
